If you had to prioritize America's needs as to what should come first
Would yours be different from what the MSM is suggesting it should be?
My picks would be 1st and formost...Health Care
2nd would be ending the "Wars" ~ Bring our troops home ~
3rd Energy policy
4th Climate concerns
5th Economy ~ jobs ~ Deficits

The reason I put economy last instead of first is I believe if we take care of those items I listed the economy will pretty much take care of itself, with the exception of infrastructure. I believe that could be a major part of an Energy Policy though..

3. There is only one order of needs right now...
1. Jobs
2. Jobs
3. Jobs
4. Jobs
5. Everything else that is paid for by taxes on WORKING Americans.

Bring our factories home now.

6. If, magiacally, jobs are created but nothing else changes, real progress will never happen.
We Americans have shown that we make progress ONLY when problems arise. ANd those problems have to be significant.

Simply putting people back to work within the same old system that eventually fucks us over (as a matter of standard operating procedure) will do nothing but make our cage a little more gilded.

16. If you don't have your health a job won't be much use to you.
And if you get sick and have a job, and don't have health insurance your job isn't going to be much use to you.

Remember many employers don't provide health insurance, or provide inadequate health insurance.

Therefore, my priorities are:

  1. Health insurance
  2. Health insurance
  3. Health insurance
  4. Health insurance
  5. Health insurance

4. And if you are sick, HCR would come first. Each person has their own, personal priorities. The OP
is speaking (typing) about national]/b] priorities, I believe.

10. I do, but I do not have Health Insurance or low cost energy or less worry
about Major Global upheaval from Climate Changes, or concern about our soldiers and our reputation throughout the world.. My priorities are probably not the same as many but they all sort of interconnect.

2. I am hard-pressed to argue against your list, or the order. As a pipe-dream, I would love
to see financial reform that would control the predatory practices of most of America's businesses, but I realize that is impossible without tearing down the entire country.

Not that that would be a bad thing...

again paying taxes so we can afford all other programs
plans etc.

Job creation is the only priority right now, else this Presidency is over.

15. Do you believe that Health Care Reform would not keep or create jobs?
Or Energy Projects, which sort of blends with Climate Concerns. Green jobs would be "the new job market" Many business are not now hiring because of high Health Insurance costs. Eliminate those costs from America's businesses and you will see a job growth unprecedented. It would free up business and allow it to compete with Global businesses that do not have the extreme burden of providing Health Insurance for employees.

18. Business does not create jobs on its own. Freeing up business will not create jobs
In fact, that whole mindset (that we need to alleviate the burdens of business) is the very essence of voodoo economics.

Forced insurance doesn't help the big employers in MY state, that's for sure.

17. I agree healthcare should be the priority
and occupy number one position.

I would put environment and energy as the second priority. These go hand in hand. And also can create jobs with new technologies and green tech. If we don't make a real change soon, I'm afraid we could poison our planet for good, which would be the ultimate self destruction besides a nuke war.

The wars would be third. Ironically it gives people in the military something to do, and gives more jobs to people. By stopping the wars it would save as lot of money but you would have to find things to do for all these people in the military.

21. Mine:
1. Jobs first and foremost. Tax cuts are NOT a substitute for a living wage JOB. People are losing their homes and livelihoods. Greed DOES NOT WORK.
2. End both occupations NOW. Both are useless and tax draining.
3. Infrastructure and energy independence. NO R&D for this sent overseas.
4. Health CARE. But hey, our country is still apparently fighting the Cold War, so it may never happen. Enjoy your Aetna if you get kicked out of your houses, assholes.
5. Repeal Gramm/Leach/Bliley and Bring Back Glass Stegall. NOW.

24. You don't get any of the above without...
...real campaign finance reform (that gets all corporate money out of political campaigns) and breaking up corporate media monopolies.

Just my opinion.

26. Jobs first, unforunately
I am environmentally conscious, and often pick up trash while out walking.
I go to the free clinic because I don't have health care.
I know people who have died in the wars we didn't need to and shouldn't have started.

I still think the economy needs to be first.

Our country is run by corporations. They decide issues on all the things you've listed. Drug companies send lobbyists to decide on health care, to bribe the proud, infallible politicians to vote for viagra. They control the economy, knowing they can play dice with our money as they hold on to the profits and throw us the scraps of defeat and deficit. They control rules and regulations that would make it impossible for corporations to fill our air, earth and water with as many toxins as they do.

They have a stranglehold on everything. In order to fix anything, we have to go after our own economy. We have to stand up to big banks and wall street as they sit there sipping margaritas with CitiBank and demand change.

The free market economy we're rapidly approaching makes it impossible for any other issues to move forward. Go after the economic pirates, see what other issues their working with their puppet strings. I can guarantee you'll find environment, wars and health care.
