Conservative vs Liberal Views of New Same Sex Neighbors
Frank and Allen just moved from Vermont to Arizona as Frank's doctor advised him to move to a warmer climate. They rented a big Ryder truck, packed all their stuff, went to Phoenix and purchased a ten-year-old brick bungalow.

Frank and Allen have two neighbors. One is Jerry, a lifelong conservative. The other is Marc, a liberal. Jerry and Marc are watching Frank and Allen move in. We join Jerry and Marc's conversation in progress...

Jerry: "A gay marriage! Oh my God! They're going to Hell. We're all going to burn. This is going to destroy my marriage! All of us will be single soon! Be sure to lock up your dog, Marc! It's the end of the world!"

Marc: "Two guys in one household? I bet they have a barbecue you could grill a water buffalo on."

4. Actually, yes you're right
IIRC the Contract on America freshmen who came to town as world-changing firebrands either slept in their offices or roomed together to prove they were not "permanent residents" of the DC area like the people they replaced. And how well did THAT work? Well, most of 'em are still in DC.
