I can only conclude from this new poll of 2003 self-identified Republicans nationwide that between 20% and 50% of the party is either insane or mind-numbingly stupid.

So instead of 20-50% of 38% of the total voting population is batshit crazy it's now 20-50% of 27% of the total voting population. IIRC.

These assclowns constitute something less than 20% of the total population, yet are given outsize access to media platforms and megaphones. And even the talking chuckleheads who disagree with them still carry their water, instead of saying "And here with the asinine opinion that Barack Obama isn't an American is Dingbat McDingleberry," or "So, you're saying that President Obama is a racist who doesn't like white people. While you're entitled to your insane opinion, you're not entitled to a free ride to voice it, and I'm here to tell you that's a load of hooey."
