Boozman Way Ahead of Lincoln in Arkansas

A new Public Policy Polling survey in Arkansas finds Rep. John Boozman (R) leading Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D) by a shockingly wide margin, 56% to 33%.

"Lincoln's approval rating has sunk to just 27%, with 62% of voters in the state disapproving of her. She's at a middling 51% even within her own party and just 17% of independents and 9% of Republicans are happy with how she's doing."

5. If a Republican wins at least we won't be stabbed in the back again and again
There needs to be a Primary opponent or we will give this seat up without a struggle.. No one likes a sell out...

10. Absolutely, no one likes a sell out or a party traitor. It's easier to accept defeat from your
opponents since that is what they are supposed to do. Bowing, scraping and praying to Lincoln has gotten old.

Same is true of Ben Nelson

Those two are my targets this year. I want them gone if it means putting a Republican in there.

9. When you ask people to choose between a real Republican and a cheap imitation they are going to go
with the real deal every time. Better to be a liberal and draw a clear distinction between yourself and the Republican than to be Republican-lite.

13. So now you possibly lose someone
who votes with you the majority of the time and replace her with someone who will never, ever support any Democratic measures. That's winning politics right there :eyes:

14. Stoopid Blanche got herself in this position by playing to the wingnuts
Lincoln stupidly thought she could appease the state's wingnuts by poking sticks in the eyes of her liberal base. Of course, wingnuts have always despised her and never intended to vote for her, regardless of how much she capitulated to them. Meanwhile, former supporters of hers, like me, were shrieking at her (calls and letters) to not betray the people who elected her. But she decided to play it "smart" by fence-sitting.

Stoopid Blanche.
