Not too long ago getting this much info on each candidate would have been much much more difficult.
Especially the judges and it is so important, I think, to vote for the right judges.

Big day for voters in IL tomorrow.

1. That's why I do Absentee balloting in California.....
Gives me at least 6 weeks to do my research....
and yes, with judges and proposition is it most helpful.

But the time I'm done, the 4 absentee ballots in my household are
completed based on what we believe, instead of just guessing.

4. Why does absentee make a difference?
We are able to print the sample ballot from our district from online, and then after weeks of research, we fill them out and take them to the poll with us as cheat sheets.
Just because you're voting at the polls doesn't mean you haven't had the same amount of time for research as an absentee voter.

5. True.
But absentee ballot prompts me to vote. Prior to doing it this way (since 2000), there were times when I intended to vote, but didn't do the homework, and didn't end up voting. :(

2. Been doing the same since last week ...
There are still a few races (mostly minor things) I'm not positive on, but I feel I've done all the homework I know how.

In the old days (in a different state), I used to call up one of my lawyer friends to ask him what judges to kick off, and he'd have to tell me funny stories about their various demeanors in the courtroom. But it was a pretty inefficient way of trying to determine a vote. We should not be voting for judges anyway. There really aren't many people like us who take several hours to track down the various bar association and legal groups' ratings.
