Why was the deficit good then?
Predictably, the usual suspects are talking about how bad a deficit is:

So now a deficit is a national security threat? Let me ask this, back when REAGAN and BUSH JR. were raising the deficit to high heaven, the right wing defended that, as that was the only way to keep us safe from bogeymen. Now, a deficit is bad, only NOW, not when we were complaining for years that your favorite sons were making sure we were in Hock to Asia!

Let me guess, if the GOP wins in 2012, suddenly, the deficit will be run up, buying whatever war front the corporations want. But the "deficit" will be bad only when it involves helping a child get fed.

1. I am convinced that their long term goal is to bankrupt the country
so that all the government will do is "protect" the interests of the wealthy elite...

2. I think that you are correct but in the meantime, they are using...
the treasury as their checking account and transferring as much public money into private pockets by privatizing as much of the government as they can.

this new Big Lie is worse than the Bank Lie, or almost as asinine as the War Lies (and the hidden babushka 2000 chad/election lie hiding inside the war lie), it's like "Hey, we know you remember who ran up the deficit and those other LIES that that made that possible, but...FUCK YOU anyway, you're another nobody average American, we get to determine the agenda and who owns it.........HA HA"
