I'm not watching the Superbowl .. join me.
If the commercials are any good they will be replayed (forever).

And the sun will rise on Monday morning.

Just go out to eat or bowling or read a book or come here and rant or something else

Just don't turn on that TV.

2. The sun will rise over the Mississippi that Monday morning
if and only if the Saints pull it off. :scared:

Actually, I will join you in not watching, for if the Dolts so much as convert a third and 7 from their own 32 in the first quarter, I'd throw a brick through my brand-new flatscreen!

Oh, and this father of a gay daughter will be watching the game. I don't care about the politics, and I DON'T care about the commercials. I loves me some football though.

Good luck with your boycott. I support ya, but next Sunday, I'll support the Colts more.

Just a tip, Target and such stores are pretty quiet.

Me, I'll do some yardwork.

Never watch it.

Now if they'd allow them to show the cheerleaders, I might watch an occasional game.

Don't much care for professional sports. The players are spoiled, rotten rich assholes who know nothing about sportsmanship.

The abuse dogs and women and drugs, and they're supposed to be role models for others.

No thanks. And the network censors deciding what's appropriate and what's not based on their own hate puts it way over the line. I'll pass.

I still feel bad for NO because of how Shrub ignored them, and I don't have to watch the stupid ad your complaining about. One dimwit with an ad I don't like is not going to dictate what I want to do.

If I ignored every show with an ad I don't like, I'd never turn my TV on.

one for several decades and I probably won't watch this one. I really can't stand the hype. It's just a football game, after all, and I really hate all the advertising crap. We have several movies coming from Netfliks, and might just take a drive in the country as well.

I am an Eagles fan, and I didn't even watch when they played the Pats a few years ago.

I just don't like superbowls.

36. No interest here either.
I don't think I've ever watched a football game all the way through. And I live in Columbus and attended OSU for five years! It just holds no interest for me, and I don't care about the outcome, so I don't watch.

I do love the "deserted city" effect you mention for shopping, movies, etc. The same thing happens here during OSU games.

40. You seem to judge the worth of a sporting event on the commercials it attracts
It's a bizarre attitude, if you ask me. Your reasons for not watching the superbowl don't seem to have anything to do with football. You don't even seem to be saying that the acceptance/rejection of the ads by CBS is the problem you have with them; it's that you've worked out that watching a TV show just for its adverts isn't really worth it.

45. I don't buy anything from the Mars Inc. after their violently homophobic ads in 07 and again in 08.
The one they aired during the Superbowl in '07 was tame compared to the ones on the Snickers website that showed alternate endings. Those were utterly appalling. Then they ratcheted it up in 08 by having Mr. T mock-gun down an effeminate man in the street. That one they aired on TV.

No Snickers, no M&Ms, no Skittles, no Dove icecream, no Twix, no Milky Way bars. The list goes on of the products they make that I miss but refuse to give them money for.

But I'm pissed off at CBS every day of every week all year long. Same with the other networks because they are essentially unfair in their news coverage.

But I think American football is THE greatest sport ever. So I must watch.

And I love The Who. But I'm still very sad about the loss Of John Entwistle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=594WLzzb3JI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zufuNr1GBYI
