Can we just declare victory and leave?
Here's something to attempt to appease those who can't bear to see us "lose" by leaving Iraq.

If you go by the Bush administration bullshit circa 2003, the goals of the Iraq invasion were 1. Eliminate Iraq's WMD programs, and 2. Remove Saddam Hussein from power.

What's the point of this? 1. There are no WMDs in Iraq, aside from a few old nerve gas shells dating back to the Iran-Iraq war. 2. Saddam Hussein is dead and his government has been dismantled.

VICTORY! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Can we bring our troops home now?

2. No, because you've forgotten 3.
"we must fight them there so we do not have to fight them here."

This is an integral part of their "strategy," thus we can never leave or the terrorists will get bored and start pushing over newsstands and hassling old ladies on the bus.

3. That is exactly what Bush wants to do, but we took it from him.
If the US leaves on the Dems terms then Bush can't declare victory.

4. Why couldn't the US just sneak out in the middle of the night?

Then Bush could act like nothing happened. Or the US can do what "Dallas" did when it wanted to bring back Patrick Duffy: just pretend the whole thing was a dream.

"Huh? What? Whaddaya mean we were in Iraq?" Where d'ya hear that?" (Bush at next a.m.'s press conference). Then CorpMedia could back him up with their propaganda, "Some people say US was waging war in Iraq! True or False? Details at 10!"

edited for spelling

6. In for a penny , in for a pound
We should have never gone in to Iraq. Now we cut and run or stay the course.
The only good result of this war is that we may think twice before invading another country. God willing.
