Why do unfaithful Dems get 24/7 media coverage for affairs--maybe 24/7 times 40
Edited on Fri Jan-29-10 12:39 AM by live love laugh
and have their whole careers eviscerated (Clinton, Edwards, Jesse Jackson) while unfaithful Republicons (Gingrich, Vitter, Bush's brother...)thrive.

Vitter received a standing O.

Edwards may never be able to show his face again.

Come to think of it, is Tiger Woods a Dem?

I'm sick of the disparity and the biased media. I had the misfortune of not turning the TV channel before Nightline came on tonight only to hear wimp extraordinaire Martin Basheer interview National Enquirer "investigators" who claim they deserve a Pulitzer for discovering Edwards love child. :eyes:

And...WHO is this "friend" of Edwards that writes a book to profit off the feeding frenzy? What kind of a friend is that?

1. I hope Woods is a Puke...
Pretty embarrassing to have a party claiming to care for the environment with prominent billionaire supporters building golf courses in the middle of the fucking UAE.

2. IMO, Edwards *should* never show his face again
Didn't this man pretend to run for President, for fuck's sake? If all of his idiotic baggage had come to light after he'd been sworn in, can you imagine the shit-storm that would have followed? It would have lasted until his impeachment, which our brave Democratic Congress would probably have carried out before the end of February 2009.

Having said that, Republicans can do whatever they want, the more monstrous the better. Their hideous wrongdoing only serves to catapult them to the top of the GOP pecking order and make media darlings out of them.

But God help the Democrat who gets a parking ticket...

4. I see your point re: discovering this if he was president. But he is not
and this "story" should be tempered by that fact. Instead gasoline is being poured on the fire.

7. It further speaks to his abominably bad judgment, though
The unavoidable truth is that he was aware of these facts during his campaign, so IMO this ups the ante on the story as a whole.

And cheating on Elizabeth--perhaps the most sympathetic figure in the current political landscape--makes it appropriate to question his wisdom if not his sanity.

9. IMHO it's really a personal issue at this point. The only thing gained by
continuing to rehash this is to ensure Edwards never shows his pretty face in politics again.

Victory to the Right.

14. Victory to the Right, perhaps--but Edwards handed it to them on a silver platter
None of this contradicts the original point that GOP fuck-ups are given a pass by the media as a whole, while Democrats are demonized for the least allegations--whether they're true or not.

3. I notice before The Ed Show, MSNBC was having a feeding frenzy about
the John Edwards scandal. What a waste of air time, especially when two cultural icons had died, Howard Zinn, and JD Salinger and they barely got a mention.

5. I dressed for work hearing this in the Today Show and merely turned on the TV
tonight only to be hit in the face with it again.

Someody should track the frequency of these types of stories.

15. Heaven forbid a M$M unfavored (liberal/progressive) female
is in a similar escapade as the Clenis or Edwards.

Note I am disappointed in Edwards and liked his populist and understanding of rural message but think he has been an Ass.

The media coverage is so "fair" in Democratic or Liberal compared with Conservative or Repiublican.

More and more one could think that American politics and media have family and business connections that do not represent a free society but rather undefined aristocracy based upon wealth.

16. Meh. How long did I have to endure the details of Larry Craig's "wide stance" or the good
Reverend Haggard's gay boy-toy and his meth habit? Every couple of weeks the story of Sanford in the woods pops back up again, along with Ensign's growing pile of dookie.

Edwards deserves what he's getting. If he's got anything in him beyond being a phony slimeball, he could still make a contribution and do good things, much as Bill Clinton has.

I'm betting he doesn't.

18. As long as I have to endure waking up yet another day to now tape recordings of Edwards
Why no tapes of Haggard or Vitter but tapes of Clinton and Edwards?

Hmmmmmmm.
