Fine job!

I was in Vietnam in 1969-70 and what you say is true. I was astonished at the rampant drug use, the apathy and the “fragging,” amongst other things.

I can still picture one of the guys saying, in a drug induced half stupor in response to an order, “ It don’t matter, Sarge!”

One particularly aggressive NCO was snuffed in a phony fire fight about a week after coming to our unit.

In my endless naivety I did not know that similar events were taking place all over.
