I think the problem with the Response to the SOTU

They are not the best and brightest. I've checked back to 1994 and couldn't find one that became President.

The others are supposed rising stars, get out there, flop and are never heard of again.

2. well, only two people have become president since 1994

so it's not terribly surprising that neither of them ever gave a SOTU response. :)
