3. I was worried about her. So sad about leaving.

Frankly, though, I would have left with my kids awhile ago, too. It's too unsafe. Maybe she and her brother will find a better place for awhile and someday move back.

4. This is heartbreaking.

She wrote about a city of "goodbyes" earlier. So many of her friends and neighbors have already gone into exile.

Where will they go and what will they find there? What must they take, what must be left?
If they can ever return, will anything remain of the life they've built?

Oh Riverbend, I am so sorry. Even when leave your country, there will be ruin left in our wake that may never heal.
