1. Starving the Beast.
Neoliberals maxed out the national credit cards on purpose. Now we're supposed to cut social programs and pay down debt. Then Democrats get voted out of office for cutting these programs. Republicans regain control to pass more tax cuts for rich folks, maxing out the credit cards again.

Lather, rinse in a bathtub, repeat.

2. The Only Safe Job
is in defense and military. That is how military dictatorships work. We are resembling North Korea more every day. If Obama wants to lower the budget he needs to get the hell out of both wars, increase social programs that lead to jobs and increase the tax base. Repealing NAFTA would be a damned good place to start. I can't believe I fell for another politician. I campaigned for Obama and donated a lot more than I could afford. I feel like I bought a prostitute, I spent a lot of money to get fucked.

4. At least you would have gotten some value for your money.
Politicians don't put out unless you own them.

3. It's a continuation of Clinton's neo-liberal policies - remember, Bill also failed as a reformer
so Barack is set to follow along the same path of further cuts in social services.

5. So True
it is like constructing a building without a foundation. If we have a strong social structure with a solid economy they we can play with military toys. Not that I advocate such actions but without the foundation we start imploding. Starving masses do not support anything. I see people now who are literally freezing and starving because they cannot afford food and heat and he wants to budget cut social programs?
