It seemed like Jon Stewart never ran out of material. He didn't even have to try most days. Just run the daily clip of the buffoon. It's too bad Palin couldn't be around for some kind of side show these days. Her interviews prior to the election were great comedy. I always wondered just how clueless she would come across on each interview. Anyone remember her being an expert on Russia because she could see them across from her state? Or not knowing what the bush doctrine was while pathetically trying to pretend she did? Good times. Good times.
Here's a collection of such comedy moments with palin for anyone who'd like to relax a moment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrzXLYA_e6ESadly there is no comedy value anymore. The 8 years of screw ups need to be addressed. Clowns like palin are fun to watch, but in all seriousness people like her have killed this country. The kind of clueless bumbling fool stupidity she represents is present in far too many americans. The fact that many americans actually respect her speaks volumes about just how clueless many people are. They respect stupidity. They have no idea what's going on in reality.
I have to apologize for snapping at people so much on DU.
I just find my self incredibly disturbed by the trends I see going on. I firmly believe the middle class is being wiped out systematically. I firmly believe if we don't get jobs soon (and I mean real jobs - not "service sector" jobs) we are going to nose dive in to a 2nd great depression within the next 1-3 years. As it stands now (when you take out the BS feel good number modifications) we are still losing on average over 100,000+ jobs a month. There has been net job loss since the 90's now.
I look and get angry when I watch our party which controls the congress and the white house while they accomplish nothing. We have a major election this november. If they don't get on the ball and get their eyes on the prize incredibly soon here we are going to be in for some major trouble. Massachusetts should have been a warning that something is seriously wrong in this country. If the republicans manage to get control of congress in November all bets for an economic recovery are off. There are ten months here to actually get some real change going. After that we may lose the ability to get anything done, and who knows when we will get that control back.
With the recent SCOTUS decision one can be sure corporations will be buying every seat they can for republican candidates. This may be the last election we have a prayers chance of winning. After that it will be us versus the corporations. And they will be bringing a gun to our knife fight. (because they will be the only ones who can afford the gun)
I personally feel Obama should have cleaned house of all republican elements when he came in to office. The fact people like bernanke are still around really doesn't make me feel like there is much hope for the middle class. We shall see what happens, but why do I have this nagging feeling anyone outside of the top 1% are screwed from this point on and it's only going to get worse?
