Why is it that the teabaggers, inc., do not trust government at all, yet
they completely trust the corporations (Exxon/Mobil, United Healthcare, Big Pharma, etc.).

I just don't understand how they think Ken Lay and his ilk are better than the government.

4. It's not that simple, many of these people are just "angry" and need direction.
We need to bring the non-racist ones to OUR SIDE.

3. Cause corporations make the Chalupas and Big Mac, corporations make products
for their favorite place in the World (WalMart) and corporations sponsor those race cars that go around the track until they crash. Why else?

8. The teabaggers *love* government..
As long as it's dropping bombs on or tapping the phones of or locking up people they don't like.

It's only when government tries to do something to help non-WASPs that the teabaggers get upset.

9. Ironically, I recently heard that many "baggers" are retired civil servants.
In that case they may be worried that "out of control" government spending may threaten the pensions they worked so hard to get.

They think that because Bill Gates, Ken Lay, and other rich powerful CEOs are White males, then that means that they're in the same tribe as these White guys.

From a whacko relatives email today
I Quote:
"You forget that liberals don't believe in the 2nd amendment so they don't consider it as the final option, conservatives do.
You don't need a lot of guns and ammo if you know how to shoot to make your point. "

18. one take on this

Take a normally curious kid and put him/her through 12 years of conditioning, aka schooling\church\competitive sports, which teaches them that this is the greatest country on earth, that they should work toward their own self-interest, that free enterprise is the greatest thing since pre-sliced bread, that all the racism and homophobia and other problems are the result of "those people" not being intelligent, moral, or hard-working enough to make it in "our" system, punish and socially ostracize anyone who disagrees, nicely ignore or redirect any question, and use the power of the state to enforce your schooling of the kid. At breakfast lunch and dinner model a very subtle racism and push them into roles that keep them from asking questions. For dog's sake don't let them find out how people in unions or rights movements may have fought/died so people like them could have a better life. Reward them for becoming the only person who really knows the truth, and continue this into the workplace.

Poof!

There will always be a percentage of troublemakers who will wind up on some web site arguing about not having any power, but as long as they stay over there and disorganized, they will not be a concern.

"We want one class of persons to have a liberal education, and we want another class of persons, a very much larger of necessity in every society, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks"
Woodrow Wilson

Or maybe it was something else...

20. Because they're stupid and easily led.
Conservatism appeals to the lowest of the low. It doesn't require any thinking, logical reasoning skills, critical thinking, empathy, or compassion. It's just 'judge, judge, hate, steal, judge, judge, despise, destroy'.

People without power and no brains get off on that.

24. I don't see a problem with that mindset, as long as it is targeted at the right people
For example, "stealing" from bankers is not bad, neither is "judging" them.

22. You really have to wrap your head around their paranoia.
It's not that they are dumb. They are just very, very paranoid. Why do you think so many feel a need to arm themselves even though 90% live in very low crime area's. Something, anyone, everyone is out to get them or is the cause of their dissatisfaction ( it's never their fault) and if you can focus that fear on one entity you have their ultimate attention. The government is an easy target. It's fixed, immobile, can't go anywhere. It has to be kept simple. And who wants government? Why it's liberals of course. Do you see how simple it is? Corporations are a moving target and their attention span couldn't handle getting drawn into that. Wait a minute...I work for a corporation and it pays me money and keeps food on the table. Who's a good guy, who's a bad guy...way too confusing.
That is why they love Palin. She knows how to keep it simple.

23. Well the problem with them being told what to think
Their propaganda tubes always contain SOME truth. That's why they work. Yes, bank bailouts bad. No one likes big banks. Yes, Obama did that-so health care will be bad. Also-scapegoat-Obama bad-Republicans good. No looking at facts. Simple thinking all based on emotion. Logic is not the strong suit. Like somebody attacked us on 9/11 and the emotion behind that is so overpowering-fear and anger-that anyone else besides those that manipulate their fear and anger will not appeal to reason. They are in survival mode all the time. I believe that is why they are called reactionary. And ultimately as frightening as any group in history.

25. Anything "private" is OK with them
Because it is the "free market."

Right wing lawyers I know think this way, because secretly, IMO, they believe there would be more legal cases. If there were no regulations to comply with or violate, the corporations would defraud people but they could sue them. Or would have to, instead of having government help them.

Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 03:28 PM by Lorien
good (like cheap crap from China) while government does nothing but tax them. They have total trust in the free market. They don't understand that without government they would be making $2.00 an hour at their jobs, would be poisoned by the products they buy, the food they eat and the air they breathe (we are already to a degree). Now there's nothing to stop the corporations from outlawing unions, a minimum wage, the EPA and FDA, outlawing lawsuits against them, even outlawing gun ownership if the people don't kowtow to their new overlords. They can require us by law to buy their products, and jail us if we can't or refuse. The Right doesn't understand this, and it will be too late when they finally do.

32. Anarchist
Some are simply closet Anarchist.

Some are simply uneducated and detest education...thus making them very gullible.

Some have drank the kool-aid and believe social generalizations as fact.

Some accept everything their Sunday pastor says and given that the Right has heavily courted specific religious groups, these religious groups also are frothing at the mouth to undo the Founding Fathers safeguards to keep any religion from dominating the government. And of course, then amend the Constitution and revise history.

Some, are all the above or any combination of them.
