Giuliani: Terrorists Never Attacked When Bush Protected Us
I'm totally embarrassed that this fool was ever our mayor. BTW, I never voted for him.

http://gothamist.com/2010/01/08/giuliani_terrorists_never_attacked.php

Wha? Mister 9/11, Rudy Giuliani, went on Good Morning America this morning to bash President Obama for weakly handling his precious "war on terror." Obama, you see, has been going about this all wrong—for one thing, he shouldn't be giving terror suspects civilian trials or closing Guantanamo. Also, he hasn't been chanting the magic phrase "war on terror" enough! And look what happens. "What he should be doing is following the right things that Bush did—one of the right things he did was treat this as a war on terror. We had no domestic attacks under Bush. We’ve had one under Obama."

Naturally, GMA host George Stephanopoulos, ever the professional journalist tool, knows it would be churlish to ask Giuliani what the shit he's talking about. (Also, is 9/11 the newest addition to the GOP memory hole? In November, George W. Bush's former press secretary Dana Perino told Fox News, "We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term.") As Joe Biden said during the Democratic Primary, "There's only three things Rudy Giuliani mentions in a sentence: a noun and a verb and 9/11." So is it too much to hope Rudy's sudden bout of amnesia will finally shut him up?

3. He's also denying the "domestic" terrorist attacks like the shoe bomber, the
anthrax attacks, the DC sniper, etc.

2. He's lying. He hopes you won't notice. And based on that Pew Centers study, ...
most Americans won't notice that he's lying. :(

6. I've vaguely recalling a really good article in "The Village Voice"
sometime before the 2008 primary season about Rudy and the myth that he's so great when it comes to issues of security. I'll have to see if I can find it. I believe it listed the lies he perpetuates about himself.

7. Rudy wasn't quite as popular here in Manhattan as the rest of the country think
he was.

11. Jesus.
I figured this article was referencing Morning Joe this morning. He said the same thing, except that we had allowed more terrorist attacks under Obama's watch than under Bush's. A few minutes later, even meek little Mika called him out, and he said "oh, I said after 9/11" -- which is a lie. I'm almost positive he did not make that clarification in his earlier statement. Plus, what about the anthrax attacks? And what about the DC sniper? I never considered that a terrorist attack, but if Giuliani considers the Fort Hood incident an act of terrorism, what about the sniper? Was he considered a Muslim? I don't remember, and when I do searches now, it's hard to tell the truth.

I don't consider the Fort Hood incident a terrorist incident, and I don't believe most Americans think so, either. It was an isolated shooting incident, one we hear about every day. The purpose of terror attacks is to terrorize the people, and I sure know I wasn't terrorized by it.

Giuliani is just a dickhead. Get over the political attacks. It's shameful. This isn't a scoring match.
