Would "Shit Happens" be an appropriate response?
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 04:46 PM by Stinky The Clown
I actually think it would be. No matter what we do, no matter how careful, no matter how many crotches we sniff and toms we peep, no matter how smart, stalwart, engaged, clever, and innovative, things will happen and, indeed, people could die.

The president has a no win job in this regard.

I wish the American public would grow the fuck up and not look to the government to be their daddy. I also wish they'd allow it, where it can do so effectively, to be their nanny. Like health care. Which has DIRECT impact every day on many lives.

What we have are unreasonable and misplaced expectations.

And yes. Shit Happens.

Edit to correct the spelling of "Happens" in the title.

7. it is not the first duty of POTUS to keep Americans safe
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 05:03 PM by grasswire
That was a Bushco LIE. Lie. LIE. LIE! And Obama is operating under that frame Bushco constructed. Dancing to their tune.

The President's first duty is to defend the Constitution.

I wish Obama and his staff would declare allegiance to that bedrock principle in every thing they do. Everything else would fall into place.

And the terrorists would lose, if Americans were as free again as pre-9/11.

12. Yes and no/. I am certainly much happier with having a President who
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 05:46 PM by truedelphi
Is in Washington mostly 24/7 and who is articluate and who has top notch people in some positions.

But ultimately a lot of praise or blame does fall on the President.

I think reasonable people will understand if one terrorist gets through the lines of defense and kills some people. But what is important in looking at that type of occurrence is who did the President have in charge? What were their assignments? Did they do what they needed to?

I will never forgive President G W Bush for the 9/11 event. It was MIHOP or LIHOP, and he spent far too much time on his ranch with far too many incompetents in place running things. He should have been booted out of office for that alone.
