Putnam on Kucinich:"an ill-conceived attempt to generate publicity for his quixotic presidential bid

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,268064,00.html

<snip>

But Republicans have dismissed impeachment calls as a political stunt and say Kucinich hasn't got a case.

"If the political pros can't predict the charges that Kucinich would bring ... then it doesn't sound like it's justified," said Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., adding he has "no idea" what charges Kucinich could bring.

"This is an ill-conceived attempt to generate publicity for his quixotic presidential bid," House Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam of Florida said of Kucinich's plan.

2. Hmmm who could have seen that coming?
I'm not sure Putnam is wrong however; the move to impeach Cheney is good politics and isn't going anywhere.

6. If the move to impeach Cheney gets to an actual impeachment
I'll donate as much as I can to Kucinich and vote for him for President; because if he can do that it takes away my largest objection to him (i.e. he might want to do great things but can't actually do them).

So you probably want to take what I say with a grain of salt.

11. I've never called you any of those things.
I think I said "asshole," once or twice, but that's nothing I don't call myself on occasion.

13. Naw, you are just misguided. But we still have high hopes for you !
Honestly, and to address your earlier point, Dennis was elected to an historically Republican seat in 1996, when the Repos controlled Congress and not many Dems accomplished anything at all in terms of passing legislation that could be considered in any way liberal.

In fact anybody liberal who did pass anything would have had to also vote for horrible stuff in return for a bone.

Can you direct me to any liberal legislation passed in that time period or any thing of significance that liberals in the house were able to achieve?

Dennis did help organize the majority Dem Caucus vote against the war. While it failed, it was of significance.

7. Moving to impeach Cheney will put Cheney under the microscope,
and that is someplace that republicans don't want Cheney to be.

The republican party has come to be known as the party of corruption, and exposing Cheney's dirty deeds will have a serious impact on republican electability in 2008.

Even if Cheney doesn't get impeached, a great deal of light will be shed on his sneaky, arrogant, and corrupt misuse of his office.

If he does get impeached, well, bwaahaaahaahaaahaa, Kooch nailed the lying snake.
