Toyota 'world's largest carmaker'
Japan's Toyota has overtaken US rival General Motors to become the world's biggest carmaker, a spokesman for the company has said.

According to company figures, Toyota sold 2.348 million vehicles in the first three months of 2007.

General Motors (GM) is estimated to have sold 2.26 million cars and small trucks during the same period.

Japanese carmakers have been boosting foreign sales and making gains in the US, the world's largest car market.

1. And America, apparently, doesn't care.
We are going to be a consumer economy soon. We won't make anything. We'll just buy imports.

And we'll wonder where all the good jobs went.

We'll wonder why our pets are dying, and we are getting sick from imported food additives.

Someday, somebody may wonder what ever became of America, the country that led the world at one time.

Now, just a third world country, impoverished, run by a Dictator who calls all the shots.

Congratulations, America. Your selfish, "me me me" attitude is to blame. "I won't buy an American car because they aren't dependable. They don't hold their value as well. I'll save money by buying an import, and it's made here in America anyway...I shop at Wal-Mart to save money..."

I'm sure our country's founding fathers are all rolling over in their graves right now. This is not what they had in mind at all.

It's a shame. And most people are too stupid to even realize what's going on. :(

4. They do?
Then why are there more Toyota's recalled than any other car?

5. Neither of ours has. '91 Tercel, '94 PU
Perhaps you could explain why such faulty vehicles outsell the magnificent, and notoriously reliable, products made in Detroit.

Having had quite a number of cars over the years made by GM, Ford, Chrysler, Fiat, Mazda, Honda, Jaguar, Triumph, nothing has compared with the Toyotas for reliability and cost.

7. Why do American babies go to the doctor more than in 3rd world countries?
Same implication.

Simple answer to both. Preventative maintenance keeps down cost of major disasters. It's called risk mitigation.

6. What's good for Toyota is good for America.
