"CONDI RICE WORKING FOR PEACE"- my kid's homework from Time for Kids
Edited on Mon Apr-23-07 04:52 PM by The Count
That was the cover - an article about her "One Tough Job" and a homework assignment phrased: many admire Rice for her powerful position. Whom do you admire and why?
Before anything, this is a very progressive school, in the most progressive part of NYC - so no way it's their doing.
But at one point we were asked to subscribe - and I sent an angry "no". Kids now get 2 pages extracts (this is the February edition) which contain their homework.
I of course exploded when my kid read the question and told her - this is the person who lied about not knowing who will attack the towers. She also lied about the war and is now under investigation by the Congress we elected for her crimes. And she is hiding. No one admires her - but people paid to write propaganda.
She is writing her essay on "the man who comes to work in our community garden - not for money but because he likes it - and makes floors arrangements with bricks and bottles and how she likes to help him" Not bad, huh?
After she is done, I'll introduce the word of the day:

PROPAGANDA

2. Yep..she works hard for the money..doesn't she?
the panty hose budget alone must be crushing..what with all those "leg'shots" as she sits through an unending series of "sit at 45 degree angle, with hand extended" shots with a never-ending supply of foreign dignitaries..

Maybe your kid could use some fresh Condi pics for the report..

4. OMG, shoes.
Somebody with way more talent than me ought to make a remix of "Kelly Loves Shoes," starring Dr. Rice. :P

5. What grade level is your kid in?
Maybe an analysis of what propaganda is, how it is used & why it should NOT be used in free societies is in order.

8. 3rd 3-4- in her school they combine two levels.
It's an alternative school where the principal asked me to get her a STOP BUSH button like the one I was wearing - and they have nice MLK celebrations - where kids put plays, sing anti-war songs etc.
