Clearly Bush handled the shoe-bomber better than Obama dealt with the tighty-whitey terrorist.
Here's the evidence. Both incidents were failed attempts, but let's look at what the Republicans are complaining about today:
Obama should have ordered every aircraft in U. S. airspace grounded when he learned of the attempt. He did not.
Obama should have rushed home from vacation, back to Washington D. C., in order to deal with the threat. He did not.
Obama waited almost 3 days to address the American people, leaving it to a lowly "senior administration official", speaking on background, to explain that events were well in hand.

Now let's examine how masterfully Captain Codpiece handled the shoe-bomber, a virtually identical situation:
Approximately three months after 9/11, George Bush did not move to have any aircraft grounded upon learning of the attempt.
Bush was vacationing at Camp David when he learned of the incident. He did not return to Washington. (He did, however, leave for Crawford, Texas not long afterward for an extended vacation.)
Bush did not address the American public about the Reid attempt until 6 days after it had occurred, and then only in response to a direct question. No administration official addressed the event or provided the citizenry with any information whatsoever in the meantime.

I rest my fucking case! We the people can now clearly see the stark difference in the way an honest-to-God Texas (Connecticut), cowboy (pig-rancher), fighter-pilot (AWOL chickenshit) man's man (cheerleader) deals with shit; as opposed to the means employed by a socialist, secret-Muslim, fascist, America-hater!

Now, all you commie, candy-ass, liberal Democrats, STFU!

9. By arguing that one point only but not the rest, are they really agreeing with the
"socialist ... fascist, America-hater" part?

11. reminds me of a great exchange from "Citizen Kane"
Charles Foster Kane: You long-faced, overdressed anarchist.
Jed Leland: I am not overdressed.

3. Hey, are you rememberin' stuff again?
That's not allowed; we only report what the Republicans are saying today, got it? If they say something completely contradictory tomorrow, we'll report that. But rememberin' stuff is just playin' "gotcha" and the Party of Real Americans and Under God Sarah Palin doesn't do that. So straighten up and fly right, mister!

5. I always thought Bush was silent for NINE DAYS after the shoe bomber attack. He
also tried Richard Reid the shoe bomber in civilian courts.

8. Captain Codpiece (snarf!) was all but silent for days after *9/11 itself*
for the end of that fateful week, the closest thing to leadership anywhere was being provided by, would you believe, America's Mayor*, the not-always-honorable Rudolph Ghouliani. Gov. Pataki made sure he stayed in camera range, but well behind Hizzoner, Cheney bailed for the fabled undisclosed location, and Capt. Codpiece  was being shuttled around to three different Air Force abses.

10. I think Al Qaeda time this on Xmas purposely to embarass Obama
They know he has small children and that he would be involved with celebrating the season with them. They also know he vacations in Hawaii, far away from DC and the power core of the country.
