Claiming the system works vs.
"I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees."

"We will be greeted as liberators"

"My answer is to bring it on"

"Wanted: dead or alive"

"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job!"

"mission accomplished"

"You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror."

"I'm the commander -- see, I don't need to explain -- I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president."

"This foreign policy stuff is a little frustrating."

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

"You forgot Poland."

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." (Sept. 2001)

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." (Mar. 2002)

"Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!" yuk, yuk, yuk...

"I'm the decider, and I decide what is best. And what's best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the Secretary of Defense."

I am not one of Obama's biggest fans right now, but if the country can overlook these statements, then claiming the "system works" after the Christmas plot is hardly cause for drama.
