in America

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the most admired woman in America, barely edging out former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, according to a Gallup poll out Wednesday.

When Gallup asked 1,025 adults nationwide to name the woman they admire most, 16 percent picked Clinton. Palin was the only other woman to be mentioned by at least 10 percent, getting selected by 15 percent of those surveyed.

Daytime talk show host Oprah Winfrey came in third with 8 percent, edging out First Lady Michelle Obama who got 7 percent.

10. Explain what you mean.
She's SoS, was a Senator for 8 years. Before that was major presidential advisor for 8 years. Maybe you don't agree with her, but her career has been admirable.

19. Explanation
I'm not saying anything good about Palin, don't get me wrong. All Hillary has ever really been is a Senator and from a state she wasn't even from. In her 8 years she voted in a way that she wouldn't upset her base, never really took a tough stand on anything of significance. She voted with Bush to go to war.

Her years as first lady don't count for much in my humble opinion. To me it would be like saying Bret Favres wife is qualified to be an NFL quarterback.

Again just my opinion.

20. It's our responsibility
I've been voting for Democrats my whole life, but I still have to call them like I see them. The party has moved well to the left of where they were years ago and I am disturbed by it. It's my right to speak up just as it is yours. We don't have to agree with each other but I will still acknowledge your right to your opinions.

14. Hillary is one tough cookie, definitely not a quitter. My admiration for her
began when she took the hits and kept going in the Presidential campaign. I also admire the way she handles herself as SOS. She is someone who commands respect.

I guess I'm a glass half empty kind of person since this article does not inspire me to have any hope for this country at all.
