A very quick note about family values and the march on Saturday.
I haven't seen all the pictures or meditations that have been posted. Just got home but I wanted to pitch in these four images because, of the ones my group took, they are my favorites.

The group I went with was my immediate family because we share some pretty deeply held family values. And, aspirations.

In particular, we feel very strongly that we should stop destroying Iraq and should effen' take care of our beloved Gulf Coast.

All weekend, my son and I hustled to keep up with my mom, Rosa. She likes to be in the middle of the action. Here she is, holding her sign so Freepers can read it:

I've never seen her back off from a problem that might seem too big to other people, including me. She just walks right up to it.

My son took time off from his 50 hour work week to be with us and to march with us. Thanks, kid, for putting your shoulder to that sign and walking all day

and for thinking with us and helping us figure out how to take back our country.

I'd really like to see the Decider and his puppet masters beat that.

:toast:

35. omg, I saw the "I have a Dream" sign there! I feel bad
we missed meeting on Sat., Beth. Bus was late and were only there for 4 hours, then a 7 hour return trip. I also saw the DU banner, but never caught up, freakin' cast weighed #100 by the time we were at the turn around past the freeps, along with the 20# bag I thought I needed to carry. lol - I never learn.

Sounds as if you and family had a meaningful time together. I'm so pleased, knowing how much it meant to you. :)

I remembered Katrina on my sign. Still pissed * never mentioned it in his State of Delusion Address, although I was not surprised. * had so many successes to announce there was just no time.

Next time Sistah!

Peace,
V

41. Just the ride TO the airport made me pick my phone up four times
to bail but, really, what can a plane ride do to me that George W. Bush hasn't done already?

You would have been so proud to see babies and their young mothers marching ALL DAY, and people with WALKERS and in uniform and just -- everyone.

That's what Democracy looks like, imho.

And later that night, these same souls were fanned out all over the city. Not purposefully, but there, anyway. And they were energized and they were talking and from all this, something very good will come.
