Update On Dante

He is still alive. In fact, he is breathing on his own, and is trying to talk (as of last night). He is still paralyzed, but I'm not sure if he can see. The last report I heard was that the radiation did not reduce the size of his brain tumor, and even if it had, they only gave him a couple of months. Apparently something happened, not sure what it was, but he is feeling better. It is inoperable, but if there is a chance they can reduce the tumor enough, there might be a doctor who would consider it, but this is not very likely to happen. I ask for your prayers/good vibes for this sweet little boy and his family.
Tomorrow myself and another teacher will go visit him. I'll give another update then. In the meantime, thank you for everything!:grouphug:

5. Update II On Dante (Good)

Dante is a Packer fan, and I called the Packer organization and told them the story, and they are sending an autographed football, along with a "care package" for Dante to my house. I will bring it to him on Thursday. Here's the really cool part of this story. I went to visit my dad who is rehabbing from hip replacement surgery, and there is a Monday night Packer show. I knew Jermichael Finley was there, and the local sports guy who runs the show did a spot on my summer school PAcker class this past summer. I talked to him, and he not only got Jermichael to autograph a Packer book (for kids), he even personalized it for Dante, and wished him well. And while I was waiting, before the show, the sports guy (Bryon Graff- Channel 9-Wausau) came over and handed me an autographed Packer hat (Greg Jennings)! I am going to give this to Dante tomorrow, and will go with his classroom teacher on Thursday to deliver the Packer care package to Dante. Wow, I am so grateful to have this opportunity!
