It's Monday Morning and Gonzales still has support of P-Resident.
All seems quiet in DC after "Abu" lied his ass off in front of the Senate. I rewatched most of the hearing on C-Span yesterday and he looked even worse in the second viewing and the first viewing was bad enough noticing how he lied and repeated "I can't recall" over and over.

So...what's next? He stays and more investigations come? Bush toughs it out with his polls in the tank and the Media just continues with "Reality (unreality) Management" for him?

1. Obviously chimpy can't afford to let Gonzales go
That alone should lead to another round of investigations.

2. Time is a funny thing
in disasterous break ups of marriage, dates, couples, time does heal all.
When the presence of someone we know to be a liar, incompetant, dishonest, intent on destroying all that was good and effective in the DOJ, the longer he remains present, the worse his corrosive impact will be.

Time is our friend, in these circumstances.

My guess is that a couple of neocon senators will take Bush aside and tell him, "Abu's killing us. You Gotta let him go." possibly as early as Wednesday.

The only reasons that Bush did not pull the pin on the Abu Grenade earlier, is because he is a smirking, petulant, obtuse, obstinant, and arrogant SOB, and acting earlier would (in his mind) be a sign of weakness.

6. No, I don't think "time is our friend," as time will allow this to be swept under the carpet,
along with Abu Ghraib, Katrina, Gitmo, NSA wiretaps, Jose Padilla, weapons of mass destruction lies, and nearly every other fucking thing that can be associated with this criminal administration.

Gonzales and Bush have weathered the storm. Time is on their side.

9. THAT is a good point. When is Congress' next Recess?
King Ass Hat will appoint Harriett or some other light-fleeing-cockroach whilst Congress is out of session.

5. We are in the "calling of the bluff" stage. moron* and his room full of dopes
have the belief that if they stall long enough, the dems will just give up.

I think they are in for a rude awakening.

10. gonzales
will tender his letter of resignation which bush will accept, though he'll be 'saddened' by it. gonzo will probably say something like he's doing it so that the focus of the country can be brought back to the important issues facing Americans. It'll be a load of crap. Maybe we all should write the letter for him, but somehow I don't think he'd sign anything saying he was, at best, inept and, at worst, a lying thug who got his jollies from authorizing torture.
