For those of you who think that this is the first step, that we must progress incrementally
Let me ask you this:

1. Why must this first step limit the rights of women in this country?

2. Why does progressing incrementally mean that we're going to be destroying the middle class through ever rising insurance premiums?

3. Given the above, how can this ever be considered "progress"?

1. If it's an incremental step in the WRONG direction, it's not progress at all.

2. And it's not such an incremental step the wrong way...
why can the good stuff only be achieved in small steps, but the bad can appear in leaps and bounds?

3. I think it is always important to remember that Harry Reid is not really pro-choice.
But yet he is the head Dem in the senate. Speaks volumes.

5. It is not progress
but the electorate has been buffaloed into thinking that bad elected officials are doing all they can because if things were perfect they would be doing exactly what we, their fucking bosses, need. So nothing is ever perfect and they can put out bad policy forever and still be elected because it was never really their fault. We will take baby steps and eventually maybe your great grandchildren will be allowed to live a healthy life without it breaking their backs. You know, nasty Republicans are standing in our way and the Blue Dogs are still Democrats so we must let them have all those things. They are just women you know, a small sacrifice so that we can all get screwed by a situation much worse than we have now. The middle class? You mean like the gardener and the maid? They are fine, they are happy to work on all holidays for our family and get a small $10.00 bonus for a bottle of aspirin or maybe two. Our elected officials are so far removed from us that they would not know middle class if they saw it. If this is what they call progress I am not at all for incrementally making the situation better. Better for whom?

7. It obviously isn't progress
it's continued disintegration of democracy.

It's being packaged as progress because that's what was promised.

We're just getting Bush/Cheney Light.

8. The first step must be forward and not backwards
It's outrageous how they try to sell this bullshit with even more bullshit.
