If you are not happy with what has happened to health care reform...

Here is the URL to send your comments to the Democratic Party:

Whining on DU might make you feel a little better but going to the source might give you a slightly better chance of being heard. While some people think the Democratic Party pays people to read DU every day and report what people are talking about, well, I wouldn't hold your breath. But I can tell you, while they don't set their agenda based on email feedback, they do pay attention to QUANTITY of emails on a particular subject. A tidal wave of negative feedback from lifelong supporters of the party would NOT go unnoticed.

K & R this post if you think our voices should be heard

1. Hear! Hear!
Complain to those who can do something about it.

9. Agreed, with single exception that it isn't complaining if
you are communicating it to someone who can do something about it.

That includes representatives, of course, but also us.

If someone thinks it is complaining, my take is that the someone probably feels powerless and would be right.

2. Is "whining" on DU hurting you in any way? Why the urgency to re-direct all this JUSTIFIED anger?

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

4. I'm not suggesting that people stop whining on DU... I'm just saying that you could *also*

5. I will indeed do some writing.
When the bill comes out of committee, I will write to my Blue Dog rep. (who has already pledged to vote against the bill, for all the wrong reasons) and ask him to stand firm.

I don't need to worry about my Senators--both pustules who will vote against it because the Democratic Party is for it.

I will spend most of my energy, however, on the House Progressive Caucus. They promised to vote against any bill that does not have a "robust" public option. I intend to try to hold them to this promise.

If the Progressive Caucus caves, I will be mighty depressed, and I will have to pin all my hopes on Obama, who promised not to sign a bill that didn't have a public option.

Kill the bill.

7. I'm one of the whiners,
I don't like being told to shut up, and I did *not* take your post as a "shut up."

Although I must admit that I don't really think emails to the party will help either. We are not in control of a thing and they don't care what we think, unless we bring massive amounts of money.

Nevertheless, I am going to send the email. I also sent a piece of my mind instead of money the last time the DCCC sent a begging letter. Might as well do *something*.

8. You know what I do with those snail mail requests for money?
I send them back with a note inside instead of a check.

6. We whine on DU after we have made our opinions known to many sources
not just one. Whining on DU get our opinions read by a variety of lurkers who wouldn't know how we are thinking if we didn't. So thanks for your concern but...really?
