Sen Coburn PRAYS A Dem Senator Will Die--Or At Least Become Incapacitated Before The Vote Tonight
An ugly finale for health-care reform

By Dana Milbank
Monday, December 21, 2009; 2:00 AM

Going into Monday morning's crucial Senate vote on health-care legislation, Republican chances for defeating the bill had come down to a last, macabre hope. They needed one Democratic senator to die -- or at least become incapacitated.

At 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon -- nine hours before the 1 a.m. vote that would effectively clinch the legislation's passage -- Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) went to the Senate floor to propose a prayer. "What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can't make the vote tonight," he said. "That's what they ought to pray."

2. what I've been saying all along, folks. Think two words LAUTENBERG and BYRD.
Both men are in the 80's, and Byrd is hospitalized now and again, trying to stay alive.....TO VOTE ON THIS BILL!

JAM THE SUCKER THROUGH, then we can fix it later..........

We will NEVER have this chance again, folks!

I don't like it anymore than anyone else.

4. i wonder what
would happen if while praying for someone to miss this vote. what goes around comes around. he might end up missing some votes himself after the people of OK wake the fuck up by the next election.

8. it's called karma -- what you wish for someone else comes back to them
i never wish bad to a person. sometimes the worst
you can wish to a person is that they get what they
deserve.

11. and yet, if some liberal said something to the effect of "The person who made that
statement should volunteer to be the one to die" ...

boy, the "liberal" (corporate) media sure would have a total meltdown of how horrible that "liberal" was ...

as it is, ... Coburn gets a pass ...

13. please, somebody go over to Byrd's house and make sure he's ok
I don't trust that "Family." They think it's ok to murder in order to make their prayers come true.
