1. Anna Nicole Smith (was it major news to have this plastered on every network/cable spews channel for days?)

2. The "diaper-naut" who drove cross country to bump off a rival (funny they didn't mention the brand of diaper... I guess it 'depends')

3. John Edwards' haircut (or house for that matter)

4. Britney Spears' haircut (or lack of hair)

5. Alec Baldwin yelling at his kid (haven't heard what might have occured to prompt Baldwin to leave that kind of voice mail message...)

I do agree with your list, though I did post in a couple of threads on a couple of the matters in your list. I don't care about the matters as news stories, but curiosity made me read the threads and, well I am opinionated, so I felt compelled....
