1. That great decline that sets our argument is the result of President Clinton
Something I think we should all remember and appreciate. Clinton single handedly defeated the powerful right wing meme of tax and spend liberal.

7. Indeed. He was the best Republican President since Eisenhower.
He was, truly, fiscally conservative.

2. But on every talk show from Limpballs to Hannity...
and in every newspaper... you have the Republics DEMANDING financial responsibility. They are the "fiscal conservative guardians" I tell ya!

Everything MUST be deficit neutral... (except for war, pork, graft, corruption, Blackwater, Big Oil, Big Pharmacy, Halliburton, CIA, drone bombing, Prisons) ... when it comes to these things... just let the red ink flow...

3. That is a nice chart and I'm sure it is correct..
... but you really need to get 2009 and projected 2010 to be fair.

5. The Big Shell Game...
You don't directly feel the defecit. It's always been the GOOP's favorite toy to play some of their most destructive games. They were able to pass major tax cuts for the rich that voters saw in their paychecks...especially those with 6 and 7 figure incomes. This regime waged two wars for profit and expensed that one as well...no one knew how much nor saw any real direct impact of the billions being borrowed and squandered. That was until the markets began to collapse.

While one can show how much he/she has to pay more if their taxes are raised, no one can do that when the defecit triggers price rises on foreign goods (like oil) or increased state and local taxes. A nice little game they've been playing and no one, especially the corporate media, pays attention (primarily cause that's how the corporates work...spend money you don't have).

And, as always, the mess created by 8 years of GOOP abuses falls to the Democrats...who have to make the hard choices and then get blamed for screwing up the economy. I saw it happen to Carter and Clinton and about to see history repeat again. Be assured the corporates will make a big stink now about the defecits and start demanding cuts...and President Obama already is showing signs of caving next year. Nice little strategy they have there.

9. It's called Starving the Beast among the cons
Run up huge debt so their is no money left for regulation enforcement, housing --actually any New Deal program. They are vandals.

10. Oh, but that's the privilege of ROYALTY, "Divine Right" and all, you know.
And that isn't even the slightest exaggeration. They DO believe whatever they can get is theirs by Divine Right.

11. OH and where is the media who should be
re-inforcing this information to the public. All they do is yell and scream about the money the democrats have to spend to clean up the previous administration's mess.

12. Everytime I see them marching at their tea rallies I think about this.
They sat silent while Bush blew billions of dollars in Iraq, a needless war. They were silent when billions went missing in Iraq. They said nothing when he cut taxes on the rich, shifting the burden to us, the middle class. Now they cry with their phony outrage simply because there's a D in the White House.
