Why would anyone be? The ends in this case justify the not too terrible means, don't they? Why not put pressure on Dems--including Rocky--to get this to reconciliation where they can ram a public option down Repub and blue dog throats? Or does Rocky know something we don't, like maybe the Dems are more like the NY State Senate assholes who were happy to look like they were for marriage equity until it looked like it might actually pass?

3. Rockefeller never was a liberal
He was just taking on the role of liberal until it became convenient to lose it.

4. But he's on the record for the original public option.
But I'll grant you, he's not the most reliable liberal in the world.

5. Being on the record for the PO was his role
Obama himself was for single payer once upon a time.

Then they had the power to change things.....

The rest is history. Our party is folding like a cheap suit, but when Rockefeller does it, I know his suit was never that tight-fitting in the first place.

6. John David Rockefeller IV will ultimately put the ultra rich first, in the end
Why would anybody expect him to do otherwise?
