"Time" dumps Green supporters for "bald, gray" man

Time Magazine has decided Iran's Green Movement is no longer in the running for its "Person of the Year" prize.

In the final result from its online readers vote, "Iran Protestors" polled nearly two and a half million votes, trouncing runner up Barack Obama, who got less than half a million votes.

Nonetheless, Time's editors decided that direct democracy should not be a factor in their choice, and "Iran Protestors" did not even make the short list.

Their final winner?

A bald man with a gray beard and tired eyes

The choice will come as a major surprise to may in the financial community. The criticisms have begun already, and I expect some much more scathing commentary in coming days.

Meanwhile, David Rothkopf argues in Foreign Policy that Neda Agha Soltan deserved the title.
