What health insurance system do you want to see in the U.S.?
Socialized medicine? Single Payer? Multiple payer? Public Option in addition to private companies? The way it is at this minute? What is the system you want, absolutely, disregarding whether it can be achieved in today's political system?

2. It should work the way your local Fire Department works
House on Fire

Firefighters put it out

You don't get a bill

Any questions?

7. Single payer. I doubt it will happen before I'm on medicare anyway, but I hope
it happens for my children. Everyone deserves quality healthcare. Period.

9. Honestly, I liked the good old socialized medicine I got in the Navy.
I was treated by both military and civilian doctors and nurses who were paid well and weren't concerned about getting permission from insurance companies to do what they needed to do, or paying off their med school bills.

13. Single payer.
And yet I stand with Mr. Krugman today...

http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/12/16/illusions-and-bitterness/

"...

So there’s a lot of bitterness out there. But please, keep your priorities straight.

By all means denounce Obama for his failed bipartisan gestures. By all means criticize the administration. But don’t take it out on the tens of millions of Americans who will have health insurance if this bill passes, but will be out of luck — and, in some cases, dead — if it doesn’t."

18. I prefer single payer.
I think it is the only alternative for our current system unless it's regulated non profits which with the way congress works, the regulations would come and go depending on the politics of the day. So I'm a heavy single payer lean.
