Poll: Public sours on Obama's overhaul plan
Who could have foreseen blah, blah, blah...?

"WASHINGTON - As Democrats struggle to pass a health care overhaul bill by Christmas, a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Tuesday found support for the reform plan has sunk to its lowest level since April 2009.

Just 32 percent of respondents said that President Barack Obama's health care overhaul proposal is a good idea, with 47 percent responding that the plan is a bad idea.

A portion of the poll was released just as the Senate was thrust into hours of health care gridlock after a Republican senator demanded that a 767-page amendment be read aloud.

The sponsor of the measure, Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, withdrew it after 139 pages had been read. Sanders said the Republican delaying tactics were an "outrage."

His amendment would have guaranteed coverage for all through a Medicare-like plan, and it was not expected to pass..."

5. No it's not.
The current plan sounds worse than leaving things alone.

(It's not currently a crime to have no insurance)

6. Who couldn't see that coming?
My family is my barometer for what "real world" people think. They loved Obama, enthusiastically supported him, balked when the media seemed intent on maligning him. These days, I hear them saying that he is always giving into to the Republicans and not doing what he was elected to do.
