Will Senate progressives sit silently by as the public option dies? (Credo Action petition)
"The situation in the Senate is grim. Harry Reid has capitulated to Joe Lieberman and announced a deal to remove anything resembling a public option from the health care bill.

"Four Senators -- Senators Russ Feingold (D-WI), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Roland Burris (D-IL), and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) -- have previously said they'd only support a bill with a strong public option.

"We are joining with the Progressive Change Campaign Committee in calling on these four progressive Senators to stand up for what they believe in, not stand aside and stay silent as Joe Lieberman and Harry Reid kill the public option."

3. All of our Great Presidents never hesitated to correct their course
of action or strategy. Even Ronald Reagan raised taxes once
he saw the huge taxcut was not working as intended.

What frustrated us most about GWB and GOP over the last
8 years. They would never admit they were mistaken and
move ahead full bore.

It might be wise for the Senators and President to rethink
all their strategies. It was belt tightening policies
like insisting on balanced budgets and other RW Policies
that pushed the Country into the GREAT DEPRESSION.

Right now jobs and the economy are uppermost on people's
minds. Thinking that this Health Care Bill is going
to make people happy--just may not be your best bet.
Who is going to tell the people that the Democratic Party
has become the party of BIG BUSINESS and therefore you
will be forced to buy Insurance at their Mercy. Who is
going to tell the people the Democrats want you to pay
taxes for your Health Care for years before seeing benefits.
Who is going to tell the Medicare Advantage People, you
will not receive the same amount of care for the same
amount of money. OH YES, the Democrats permitted one
Senator to grandfather in or waive Medicare Advantage
for his constituents.

This sounds negative. But you can bet your bottom dollar
these are things that will be emphasized when the bill
becomes law. Joe and Jane Sixpack most likely will be
very unhappy campers.

Let us hope the President and the Senators think long and
hard.

More people will cover their backs if they admit change
is needed and proceed . We were unhappy for 8 years
with the certitude of Bush and RWers.
