Accenture ends Tiger Woods sponsorship "no longer the right representative"

Accenture ends Tiger Woods sponsorship

(AP) — Global consulting firm Accenture Ltd. has ended its relationship with Tiger Woods, marking the first major sponsor to cut ties altogether with the golfer since his alleged infidelities surfaced and he announced an indefinite leave from the sport to work on his marriage.

In its first statement since the Woods' scandal erupted, Accenture said Sunday the golfer is "no longer the right representative" after the "circumstances of the last two weeks." The move ends a six-year relationship during which the firm credited its "Go on, be a Tiger" campaign with boosting its image significantly. Accenture has used Woods to personify its claimed attributes of integrity and high performance.

"After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising," Accenture said, adding that "it wishes only the best for Tiger Woods and his family."

The firm plans to immediately transition to a new advertising campaign, with a major effort scheduled to launch later in 2010. An Accenture spokeswoman said it is company policy not to discuss details of sponsorship contracts, including whether Woods' deal contained a morals clause that would allow Accenture to end the contract without paying a break-up fee.

1. This will Accenture more than Tiger..they shouldn't use integrity and Accenture in the same sentence

Accenture have a bad reputation in the industry as it - they pay below market salary's to employee, extremely high turn over..had heavy layoffs already this year and are heavy into outsourcing -

7. I worked with some people from there when I was at Enron back in the late 90's
At the wind energy division. That whole freaking place was a sham (Winstar was as well, they screwed a lot of people and made off like bandits).

TIger Woods is a whore for taking their money in the first place.

14. No..not known for insurance....keep googling..

Accenture is the world's leading provider of management and technology consulting and solutions - except they are not very good at it..

In September 2007, Accenture was implicated in a high-profile case of loss of sensitive data (sometimes referred to as a "data spill") on individual American citizens. The information was contained on a backup computer tape being used in the development of a state government information system in Ohio which was stolen on June 10, 2007; the stolen tape contained the names and Social Security numbers of every Ohio state employee, more than half a million people owed tax refunds by the state of Ohio, 602 Ohio state lottery winners who had not cashed their winnings, 84,000 welfare recipients, and tens of thousands of other individuals, taxpayer identification numbers for Medicaid providers, bank account information for school districts and local governments, as well a great deal of information related to the state of Connecticut... an Accenture client, including "information on nearly every bank account held by state agencies – including checking accounts, money market accounts, time deposit accounts, savings accounts, trust fund accounts, treasury and certificates of deposit – which could total billions of taxpayer dollars.

13. What, Tiger Woods isn't a big enough jerk for them?
Coming from the lying thieving bastards of Accenture that's pretty rich.

I take that back...they really aren't the actual thieves, they just drove the getaway car.
