Dr. Chermel was a member of Doctors Without Borders, and while serving in Bosnia during the war, her group won The Nobel Peace Prize. She set up Primary Care Centers in Angola with The International Medical Corps. Dr. Chermel served as an Emergency Room Physician at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, at Rush/Oak Park Hospital and at Loretto Hospital in Chicago.
