Why? WHY?

These are the type of men we need right now as President. We need someone who is ready and willing to restore domestic order. Then one of these fine men could select a running mate that has expertise in foreign policy. Someone like Kerry, Boxer, or Dodd.

I just think that the next president must make domestic issues priority number one. That of course includes a tourniquet for the literal and financial bleeding in Iraq.

1. What's wrong with them staying where they are and doing a bang up
job as Senators and Reps? I like what they are doing, and think that Congress (when not a ShrubCo rubberstamp) is equally important in running things. I would much rather have Waxman sitting in the Chairman's seat during all of these scandal hearings than out on the road campaigning

2. The media would do to them what they do to Kucinich or Richardsen
Media will purposely ignore them so no one gets to know how great they are.

3. I would prefer Feingold, Leahy, Waxman, or Conyers on foreign policy too
I know they would be closer to my values.

The others are still either skirting the core issues in Iraq or lying, depending on how charitable you want to be.

4. Oh, they can run, but the election system is rigged against them.
You need lots of money the way it works now, for example, and where are you going to get it?
And you need favorable media coverage, and where are you going to get it?
We have become accustomed to these well-groomed suit-droid candidates, it's all show business now.
Presidential elections are not a whole lot different from reality TV now.
Who gets voted off the island today?
And like such shows, it's rigged, scripted.
