Source: DailyKos

I get spam:

We will not back down

From: President Barack Obama to Markos

Markos --

As we head into the final stretch on health reform, big insurance company lobbyists and their partisan allies hope that their relentless attacks and millions of dollars can intimidate us into accepting the status quo.

So I have a message for them, from all of us: Not this time. We have come too far. We will not turn back. We will not back down.

But do not doubt -- the opponents of reform will not rest. So I need you to fight alongside me.

We must continue to build out our campaign -- to spread the facts on the air and on the ground, and to bring in more volunteers and train them to join the fight. I urgently need your help to keep this 50-state movement for reform going strong.

Please donate $5 or whatever you can afford today:

http://my.democrats.org/...

Let's win this together,

President Barack Obama

Really? All we have to do is send the DNC $5 and we get ponies? The same DNC that is enabling corporatist Democrats to water down and destroy any hope for health care reform? That DNC?

This is so freakin' obnoxious I can hardly stand it. We are about to get a turd of a "reform" package, potentially worse than the status quo. We have the insurance industry declaring victory, Republicans cackling with glee, and the administration is using that piece of shit to raise money?

Obama spent all year enabling Max Baucus and Olympia Snowe, and he thinks we're supposed to get excited about whatever end result we're about to get, so much so that we're going to fork over money? Well, it might work with some of you guys, but I'm certainly not biting. In fact, this is insulting, betraying a lack of understanding of just how pissed the base is at this so-called reform. The administration may be happy to declare victory with a mandate that enriches insurance companies, yet creates little incentive to control costs or change the very business practices that have screwed so many people. But I'll pass.

Democrats are demoralized, and have little incentive to turn out next year. The teabaggers will turn out. If this is how the Obama camp thinks we can energize the base -- by promising them a health care pony for $5 to the same Democratic Party that is home to the likes of Baucus, Nelson, Lincoln, Lieberman, and the rest of the obstructionist gang -- then we're in for a world of hurt in 2010.

2. They're not getting a dime from me......
I don't care what kind of shine people put on what they've done the past 11 months. They've enabled the worst elements of corporate america, encouraged and continued to foster the notion of trickle down as any kind of solution for anything, and they've allowed the blue dogs to run roughshod over everything we voted them in to accomplish.

And yes, the blue dogs and centrists have every right to vote for or against anything they want. But if they are not going to vote as part of the democratic caucus then they should have their chairmanships or any positions of power and authority taken away. Until our leaders send a message that you don't get to stimey the democratic agenda while at the same time reaping the benefits of a democratic majority we will continue to be in this position. Until they say to threats of fillibuster "Go for it...." and make them back up the rhetoric with actual work and exposure as the frauds they are, we will continue to be in this position.

I'm done throwing good money after bad. I'll donate to individual dems who share my values but the party gets nothing from me any more.

Not that it will make much difference.

6. Uhmm, democrats.org is the DNC.
Democrats.com is a grass roots type group, Bob Fertik and others, who push the DNC.

Did you send your e-mail to the wrong group or type it incorrectly here? Oops.

5. I got the same email -- here's my reply
I just heard on the Keith Olbermann show that the Democrats in the Senate have agreed to dump the public option altogether.

I have one response for you -- GO TO HELL.

I will not give the Democrats money.

I will not campaign for Democrats.

I will not VOTE for Democrats.

WHEN DEMOCRATS SELL US OUT ON HEALTH CARE WORSE THAN THE REPUBLICANS, THEY WILL NOT GET SUPPORT FROM ME.

Stick your MANDATES someplace uncomfortable and leave me alone.

I am changing my party affiliation to Independent if the Democrats in Congress pursue this corporate health insurance profits protection act that they call health care reform.

14. From and Independent
I went Independent years ago. I'm from Alaska, so my congressional delegation is worthless--politically and culturally as backwards as the oil industry-dependent people of the state. Bernie Sanders is my adopted senator.

Donate money directly to candidates, forget the DNC and RNC, and DO help target unprincipled democrats in other districts. Now THAT will feel good.

This isn't about party, it's about principles; it's about people; it's about the future. None of those things matter to a bunch of elected officials, including the president, who are working for Wall Street.

Now, if we target democrats there is a good chance that we'll be helping the republicans pick up a bunch of seats in 2010 and 2012, and then things will get REAL BAD. But that's okay, because things are going to have to get REAL BAD before the masses get angry enough to make the major changes this country needs.

16. They won't miss your $.
The Chamber of Commerce "Centrist" Democrats are raking in MILLIONS from their Wall Street, The Health Insurance Cartels, and the Armaments Industries among others.

What we On the Left need to do is Get Organized and pool our resources to target a few "Centrists/BlueDogs" this Primary Season by bankrolling Progressive opponents to the Blue Dogs. WE CAN make their "local" elections a National Issue if we pool our resources and focus our efforts.

I suggest we target Sen. Evan Bayh (Indiana).
He is one of the WORST offenders, and he is up for re-election in 2010.
I will be donating to ANY Democrat who opposes this piece of Republican shit, and encourage everyone to do the same.

ALL Congressmen are up for re-election in 2010.
Mike Ross (Traitor, Arkansas) would be a good target, but there are some from "Blue " States that would be better.

Michele Bachmann (Idiot Fundie Mouth Breather, Minnesota) would be another good target.

To be effective, we need to limit our targets to just a couple, and focus our national efforts. AccountabilityNOW is an Internet Based Organization that has the right idea.
I know nothing about them, and at this point can NOT endorse them, but they are saying the right words.

http://accountabilitynowpac.com/candidates/

AccountabilityNOW wants to target Specter's primary in Pennsylvania.
That sounds like a good idea.

Unless we FORCE some "CHANGE", we are not going to get any "Change".
"Hope" is only a dream unless we MAKE it real.
I'm ready to storm the Democratic Party's Corporate Castle.

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
