Winter Storm Dumps On Wisconsin
Source: Weather ?????

Storm Expected To Drop Foot Of Snow In Some Areas

MADISON, Wis. -- A combination of heavy snow, strong wind and freezing rain continued to pound Wisconsin early Wednesday
as many residents attempt to dig out.

Heavy snow and strong winds pummeled Wisconsin overnight as a major snowstorm crept across southern Wisconsin on Tuesday
night. The storm has caused widespread power outages, hundreds of school closings and treacherous travel for those braving the
roadways. State offices and the University of Wisconsin campuses are closed as well.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for the southwest corner of the state through Wednesday evening.

1. Here in La Crosse we got 12" to 15". Can't ease into winter, got to go from no snow to being buried
I have a newspaper motor route right here in the city that usually takes me less than 2 hours and I start at about 3:30 a.m. Today I didn't manage to get my car to the plowed street until 5:00 and finally finished at 9:30. I have a few home deliveries that I usually just drive up and toss the paper, but today I had to park the car and walk to them, a couple of them being an up to a mile walk round trip to deliver 1 paper. Plus there was that fun glare ice under an inch or two of snow. I slipped numerous times and actually fell twice (that is personally momentous because I have gone over 10 years without falling even once on the ice--maybe I'm getting older, I hear there is a lot of that going around.)
