Sounded like it to me. Tweety was on him.

1. There was a post here earlier (when Tweety first aired) that said something
about Buchanan and slavery. Didn't read it, though, but if you're getting the same vibe, you both are probably right.

3. This man?
"He was accused of war crimes at the Battle of Fort Pillow for leading a massacre of unarmed black Union Army prisoners."

4. Yep that piece of shit, though
both sides committed acts of massacres (see Shermans march).

5. Sherman set camp one block from where I grew up. However ..
Sherman did not found a racist (nay, terrorist) organization like the KKK.

Just pointing out both sides were not clean. It was a civil war, and I for one am glad it went the way it did.

7. Yeppers
I just watched the George Carlin riff from the DU front page. Carlin treats the "civil" war as it should be treated.

he is always funny and through provoking.

12. What massacres?
Sherman picnicked across Georgia, the cornucopia supplying the confederacy, because he wanted to bring the war to the wealthy who thought they were safe from it. He wanted to demoralize, not hearten. Creating martyrs would not serve that purpose. He did leave them frightened and hungry, though.

16. You think only the wealthy died in Sherman's march?

18. That's a question not a fact. What massacres?
Give me a fact or give me a link. If you know something I clearly don't, TELL ME. But don't get coy. What massacres?

8. I'm related to him. It's not like you get to pick your family or anything.
I'm not a descendant. I'm related to him through marriage by way of my paternal grandmothers side. No big deal, but it happens.

10. Related to Nathan Bedford Forrest or Pat Buchannan (or both)?
One thing my gig with the USFS this past fire season taught me was the difference in the spelling of the KKKer's name and that of the woods (as in the Deschutes National Forest).

15. ?
I'm (still) not a descendant. My paternal grandmother had an aunt (or great aunt whatever) that married one of his brothers. I'm not a "Forrest", but he is a relative.
