Really hilarious story up at Talking Points Memo about an e-mail circulating in the RW blogosphere about a RW "hero" who details his actions to thwart a terrorist hijacking plan to take over an AirTran flight. Except he wasn't on the flight!

Better still is Debbie Schussels' blog story and the comments she is getting.

When you want to hate and fear brown people, it's amazing how far one is willing to go to buy an obviously bullshit story.

2. Definite obvious bullshit

The guy claims these men were all Muslims yet doesn't explain how he knows that. Then he claims a Texan helped him strongarm the Muslims. Did he stop and ask the guy where he was from BEFORE they played hero on the plane?

You also have to wonder why an attempted hi-jacking is only reported in an email and not by any of the MSM.

And there's the fact that the guy who wrote the email was not a passenger. And the airline denied the incident ever happened.

I clicked the source link at Talking Points, columnist Debbie Schlussel {sp?) and there are other alleged passengers, stepping forward, giving interviews.

The link from the PR folks at AirTran made it sound like this was some nutjob making up crazy, scary stuff, some sort of right-wing fantasy fiction fear porn, but someone's trying to corroborate it. Really confusing.
