As conservatives grapple with how to deal with being called "teabaggers," a National Review senior editor mulls whether to embrace the term like blacks using the "N-word" amongst themselves: "This brings up the question of whether 'teabagger' could be kind of a conservative N-word: to be used in the family, but radioactive outside the family."

what they decide to call themselves, to most of us they will always be affectionately known as "TEABAGGERS"!
The name is quite appropriate too as the sound that comes out of their pie hole is often mumbled as if there was something in it distorting the sound. LOL

It would be a good social test, though, to see how much you can control the dialogue and use of language, if you were interested in that kind of thing. I wonder how many articles and news shows it would take, and what kind of promptings. I'm pretty sure conflating tea-bagger with any number of the degrading terms they use for people in private would be effective, but only on the liberals who want to be respectful of the feelings of others. It's always interesting to see them play the victim - to my amazement, it totally works for them. We Americans are weird.
