1. No. The proposed pipeline (from the 1990s) was already built by someone else.
It doesn't go across Afghanistan because it doesn't have to.
The pipeline argument had more credibilty in 2001 when Bush/Cheney attacked (and Cheney was negotiating for the pipeline deal). Now that it has been built, it's an irrelevant argument.
