We're doing a great job warring on Christmas at the following locations:
Banana Republic
Best Buy
GAP
We're doing well but starting to slip:
American Eagle Outfitters
Borders
Old Navy
Christmas is currently winning the war:
Bass Pro Shops
Cabela's (notice a pattern?)
Dillard's
Lands End
Sears
Target
Yes, the Christians are taking notes and keeping score! Here are some of their ratings:
Borders: they had "holiday" cards and many "holiday" specials. didnt see any mention of Christmas. upon checkout, they were soliciting donating a book from a pile they had sitting on the counter to give to needy children, but none of them were Christ-centered or Christmas related stories (not even secular christmas!).
Walmart: We love the fact that Walmart carries religious-themed Christmas cards. We're so tired of Santas and reindeer, and especially offensive themes like Sponge Bob. This is our third year to buy our cards at Walmart.
Not everyone was happy with Walmart's position on all things Christ: Why can't I find a large nativity set to place outside on my lawn? There are so many other decorations but practically no nativity sets.
It is good to see the Christmas themes in the store. The Wal-Mart in our town even had K-Love Christian Radio on before. That was really great! Now if we could just get them to stop displaying Cosmopolitan magazine! MERRY CHRISTMAS!It's nice that we're provided with such a handy statistical breakdown of where we need to mix it up a little better. Let's get that Lands End score DOWN, people!
