Nelson Crafting Abortion Amendment 'Nearly Identical' To Stupak's
If it seemed like the congressional row over abortion coverage in health care reform had ebbed, it was probably just an artifact of Thanksgiving recess. Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) is charging ahead, and plans to introduce an amendment to the Senate health care bill in the spirit, if not the precise letter, of the controversial Stupak amendment.

"It's as identical to Stupak as it can be," Nelson told CongressDaily.

I am so effing tired of these men crafting whatever that won't physically and mentally affect them.

I want them to craft some amendments or bills that help take care of children after they are born. They are such bloody dolts and hypocrites. Once children are born, they are on their on. Enough food? Decent housing? healthcare? jobs for their parents? decent schools?

No child in this country should have to be born into abject poverty and live their lives that have very little hope or help. Ben Nelson needs to get his head out of his ass and take a tour around his state. I guarantee you he would find plenty of kids who need help.

He can sit his wide ass down and try to write something useful instead of 'crafting' anything identical to Stewpot. Either he can craft something that helps kids or he can craft a boat and sail off the edge of his flat Earth.

1. And a lot of DUers are just fine with such an amendment.
Just so long as Obama gets his Rose Garden Bill Signing.

3. Lots of folks told me "Not to worry, Stupak would never pass the house"
Same folks also said the Senate would never consider such an amendment. With Reid, Casey, and Nelson and several others, it has a great chance of passing.

5. And remember the meme of "wait until we see what is in the final bill BEFORE
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 06:53 PM by saracat
we complain"? Like the time to act was when the BIll is final? And then their was "trust them to make things right later". But I am a "Debbie Downer" for daring to point this out.

8. Yeah but I am just a "hater" who is only "pretending" to support
women's rights".No one actually really cares about that issue. We only get upset because we want the Admin to "look bad". GRRRR:mad:
