Campaign Finance Reform

Until we have campaign finance reform we will not see politicians elected at any level who represent and fight for progressive interests. Its difficult to get a good candidate to run when they see how much money they have to raise, and keep raising once they get in office. The system is broken.

Barack Obama won the presidency because he was a good candidate and put together a fantastic fund raising machine, and he will win in 2012 for the same reason. Nobody wins because they're the best candidate... the 'best' candidates are too principled to suck up to corporations.

Nothing is going to change until we get hold of this element, nothing. There will be wars and more wars as long as the offices go to the biggest spender, especially the presidency.
