3. The last button needs a Blue Dog with it's head up the elephant's ass.
Then it would be more accurate.

10. Reality check
Both Social Security and Medicare are insolvent... in the former's case, all the money that was supposed to be held in trust was instead 'borrowed' (AKA stolen) and spent. Two insolvent institutions don't exactly set a great precedent...

12. And yet in fact they are two of the most popular and successful
Edited on Mon Nov-30-09 06:16 PM by Kid Dynamite
welfare programs in US History. You seem to have it backwards here -- good programs must go..because dirtbag politicans and their business interest underwriters will just loot them until they go bellyup.

Maybe its not the programs that need to be examined..maybe its the crony political system? Maybe the culprit is also the people who obsess over such a political system or regard it as having any promise for promoting the public good?

Just a reality check for you..

14. Well, yes
It is because the politicians can't be trusted, not because the programs aren't worthy ideas in and of themselves.

Now is there anyone who still thinks that politicians can be trusted? Isn't that the first thing that needs to be fixed before anything else can be seriously addressed?

15. You said politicans can't be trusted
Different POLITICIANS are sill..politicians. You are arguing for gutting vital social programs because you'd rather have crooked politicians and you can't have both? Really?

Doesn't matter who wins at the game of political musical chairs..the system still sucks

13. History
Americans love to repeat history instead of learning from it.

17. It might be mildly amusing ...
if Obama was pushing for socialized health care. But he's an anti-socialist.
