15. Not listed in the L.A. Times top 10 best-sellers yesterday
I was curious to see where it was my local chart and was elated to see it wasn't even on the chart. They usually show Beck, Hannity, Coulter, et. al's pieces of crap on the list for at least a couple or three weeks, so for this to not even show up there two weeks after it comes out made me proud of my city for a change.

If so, that was the whole point of the hype and book tour--to recover as much of her (alleged) $5 million advance as possible before the holiday sales kicked in!

It would be a substitute for the real thing.

16. We don't know if that's a result of remaindering
It could be the result of a bulk purchase by Newsmax, with the intent of getting as many copies as possible out there.

17. There was a huge display of them at Costco in Woodinville, WA
over the weekend. I spend a lot of time in the book/DVD section, and I didn't notice even one person picking the book up, putting it in their cart, etcetera.

I don't think the sales of this book are all that. I also wondered if any of those who showed up in Richland, WA, for the book signing over the weekend were paid to do so.

25. I confess
I almost bought one last week. Ok, here was the idea: I was taking the train on wednesday up the northeast corridor, Nd I figured the beat way to get a seat to myself was to be reading 'going rogue' taking notes and muttering 'you go, girl' at random intervals. But i couldn't find a copy in dc for sale...

27. Many books. Technical though.

Took 5 years before I found it on the Barnes & Noble Remaindered shelf.

Sarah clocks in at 5 weeks or so.

28. It's not remaindered. It's a loss-leader
I get a newsletter from my local Scifi bookstore that includes comments from the owner on the state of publishing. According to him, recently big players like amazon.com, walmart.com and target.com got into a price war over pre-orders for 10 bestselling hardcovers (including Palin's), selling them for below cost with the idea that customers would order other books at the same time. In other words, they were using these books as loss leaders.

30. Ours has been listed on Amazon.com for $67
already a collector's item..

So far we've had an AP article. The Guardian, NYTimes, WaPost, Entertainment Weekly, and Entertainment Tonight (about 4 days ago) used our cover for a teaser on Palin THREE Times.. we're pumped.. Best Seller on Amazon in Humor, and B&N as well..

Amazed, since we just started doing PR, were caring for wife's father for 6 months while he died of cancer, now gone, we're on the PR trail.

BUT this is a FUN work, go to http://www.goingrouge.net and have a look at the sample pages.

It's not your Momma's coloring book, you betcha :)
